NEO NAZI OR ISLAMO FASCIST... ALL THE SAME

Reader comment on item: "24" and Hollywood's Discovery of Radical Islam

Mr Pipes writes:

..."Sum of All Fears ("27,000 Nuclear Weapons. One Is Missing"), based on a Tom Clancy novel of the same name. The novel had Arab terrorists setting off a nuclear device at football's Super Bowl but the movie, under pressure from Islamist organizations, features neo-Nazi terrorists instead. ("I hope you will be reassured," Director Phil Alden Robinson wrote in early 2001 to the Council on American-Islamic Relations, "that I have no intention of promoting negative images of Muslims or Arabs, and I wish you the best in your continuing efforts to combat discrimination.")"

I felt it strange at the time that the directors and screen writers whitewashed the novel, but if you think about it, the Islamist terrorist movement "quacks" a good deal like a neo-Nazi group - so the parallel is spot-on in my opinion. They harbor hate for a group of people (Jews, Westerners), deny their right to the land they have lived on, if not controlled, for 5,000 years, and want them dead or gone (preferably dead). The root of their hatred of the west is Zionism itself, which dared to empower the "sons and daughters of monkeys and pigs" and dared to facilitate the planting of a non-Islamic state in the middle of the Caliphate. Their hatred of America specifically is couched in our unwavering support for Israel. Their real target is the Saudi government, whose collapse they believe will cause a domino effect in the balance of the Islamic world, creating a situation whereby the Arab Islamists like bin Laden are left on top of a sea containing 30% of the world's oil.

I would encourage all to find a translated transcript of the 16 December 04 bin Laden tape and observe the call to jihad against the Saudi government and others. Notice the focus of the hate on the west and on the "Zionist entity." Hitler and Amin al Husseini would be quite proud...
