facing realityReader comment on item: How to Turn Gaza Over to Egypt Submitted by Rebecca Moulds (United States), Feb 8, 2008 at 19:17 C'mon, Egypt doesn't want the masses of Gaza, no matter how supposedly close their languages are. The general consensus in Egypt is that it has enough of its own problems to deal with, let alone being dumped on by Hamas. The Egyptian government already subsidizes cooking oil and rice for their own people; how much more can they do for strangers to their land? Unless they are made to move far into the Sahara, there is no way that Egypt can absorb them. Cairo is bloated with a population of 20 million. Hosni Mubarak has a huge guarded villa in Heliopolis; perhaps he can open it up to a few of the Gazans.
