Practicing taqiyya

Reader comment on item: How to Turn Gaza Over to Egypt
in response to reader comment: peace process bush's bluff

Mr. syed mohammad ali, is simply practicing, "Taqiyya". Taqiyya means, "the practice of deceiving unbelievers about Islam, for the explicit purpose of promoting and encouraging the religion of Islam". According to the 10 commandments accepted by Christians, the ninth commandment states that:
9. You shall not bear false witness, or simply, you shall not tell lies.
Thus, if Mr. Bush is lying, he is breaking the 9th commandment.

However, if Mr. syed mohammad ali is lying, he is simply practicing, "Taqiyya", which is entirely lawful and acceptable under Islam. Thus practicing taqiyya, is keeping one's convictions secret and the concealment of malevolent intentions.

Taqiyya has been diffused throughout Arabic culture for over fourteen hundred years since it was developed by Muhammad and Islam as a means of defense and concealment of beliefs against Jews and Christians. As the Prophet said: 'he who keeps secrets shall soon attain his objectives.'

Anti-Semitism, a core belief of Islamic fundamentalism is also skillfully diverted by misleading and exaggerated historical references to the alleged status enjoyed by Jews and Christians, thereby deflecting critical examination of the virulent contemporary Islamic anti-Semitism.
