Reader comment on item: The Scandal of U.S.-Saudi Relations

Submitted by John Green (United States), Apr 23, 2006 at 12:35

In 1963, when I was flying the embassy run from Travis AFB to Daharan and back, we had to leave any Jewish crewmembers and those with red hair in New Delhi to be picked up on the return trip. We have continued to be subservient , acting as de facto dhimmis, in all our dealings with Saudi Arabia.

Gas prices are getting a lot of play in the political arena, with the Republicans getting the blame. Put the blame where it belongs. The congress of the United States has had since the oil embargo of 1973 to set this right. Some of those same senators are still sitting on their hands not doing a thing about.

For 33 years they have been more interested in votes than the welfare of this country. Senators like Byrd and Kennedy can pontificate all they want, but their actions over the past 33 years shows they JUST DON'T GIVE A DAMN. POLITICS COME ABOVE COUNTRY!!!
