Saudi intolerance from someone who knows

Reader comment on item: The Scandal of U.S.-Saudi Relations

Submitted by Alison Black (Kuwait), Jan 9, 2004 at 14:11

I have worked in Saudi for some time now and sadly have to agree that it is a very SAD society. Sad, that it deprives women of basic rights and treats them as second class citizens. That it does not tolerate other faiths is a sign of its fear that trust will eventually get through. The hypocrisy in Saudi is at a new level - no drink or immoral behaviour is tolerated in the country but at weekends the saudis pour across the Bahrain causeway so they can womanise and drink to their hearts content.

Saudi Arabia is controlling, class minded and racist beyond belief! Islam is not the issue, its the way the religion is used to hold the people down in the middle ages - hence why their year of 1454 is about right!!
