Christianism? You must be joking

Reader comment on item: Distinguishing between Islam and Islamism
in response to reader comment: And no concomitant distinguishing between Christianity & Christianism?

Submitted by Octavio Johanson (Italy), Mar 16, 2006 at 07:51

The definition of "Christianism" is very funny. It is a joke. It is true that you get Protestant fundamentalists in the USA and Catholic terrorists in Northern Ireland. It is also true that Lebanese Christians were violent, but who can you compare this with the phenomenon of global jihad? You mentioned the KKK: those are clowns and they are laughed at by other Protestants. The definition of "Christianism" is out of place. How can you compare Christian exteremists to mass murderers like Bin Laden? You must be joking.
