Reader comment on item: Distinguishing between Islam and Islamism
in response to reader comment: 1.8 Million Christians converting to Islam because they actually believe in it makes me laugh, but 1.8 million converting because money issues, pressure, social climbing, promotions, threats, to divorce ,to marry several women….etc. makes more sense.

I am a single western woman, and I have experienced being treated with great respect (remembering I am living in a "primarily christian country" ). Ive found christians are very off -handed with their women. Here in Australia Ive noticed a huge number of female converts to islam - interestingly much more than males converts, with just a trickle going the other way. I note that women who have converted (both married and single) seem genuinely happier than christian women. By the way I am not a convert, just my observations. I spoke with a muslim girl and asked if she thought they were happier. She said no - but thought they were more content and relaxed. :0
