Obviously few leave Islam, given the death sentence leaving it entails. The notion that any mythology which requires the distortion of the human personality to the point of overcoming the human instinct of self preservation is compatible with a rational civilization seems obtuse. The mythology elevates the 'martyr' to a level by which "...ONLY HE CAN COME INTO THE PRESENCE OF AL LAH". This cult of the martyr is a perversion of the human psyche. Requiring, as it does, the physical destruction of the 'self' in order to come into communion with the deity. This is not compatible with the canon of Western thought. It leads to the distoirtion of the personality of the human person and is thus incompatible with this, or any ,civilization. Producing, in fact, a unique and destructive "Muslim Personality Disorder" .
