Reader comment on item: Distinguishing between Islam and Islamism

Submitted by TBuzzard (United States), Mar 9, 2014 at 11:11

This so-called religion is nothing more than a barbarous totalitarian political system built on a foundation of misogyny, anti-Semitism and the unfettered hatred of all things Christian. Lest we forget – in the name of Islam – the Ottoman Empire (modern day Turkey) slaughtered nearly 2 million Armenian Christians between 1915-1916 and 1922-1923. This genocide started with the wholesale butchery of 500,000 poverty stricken Armenians in the capitol city of Istanbul (formerly Constantinople).

Sadly, the misery didn't end in Istanbul. Islam's appointed spiritual leader – Mohammed el-Husseini (the Grand Mufti of Jerusalem) – helped Adolf Hitler construct one of the most odious and horrific machinations in human history – the "Final Solution."

There is no such thing as 'radical Islam', or "moderate" Islam. Islam is Islam today as it was 1400 years ago. you have 'Pure Islam' and nothing more. There are practicing Muslims and non practicing people who identify with Islam, some people call them moderates. A moderate in Islam is simply an Apostate of Islam. The penalty for apostasy in Islam is death. No one has hijacked Islam. Islam was dangerous and full of hatred 1400 years ago and in 2014 it remains the same
