Reader comment on item: [Israel's Gaza Withdrawal:] A Democracy Killing Itself

I dunno, but something in Ariel Sharon´s actions vis a vis Gaza just doesn´t add up.

I believe that the outcome of war is decided when one side sues for peace upon the best conditions it can get. Could it be that Sharon is deliberately ´¨provoking¨ the Palestinians into assuming that they´ve ¨won ¨an important battle, thus causing them to mount a full-frontal attack upon Israel with a then-furious and ultimately crushing (as in final) response (from Israel)?

Ariel Sharon, whom I admire greatly, is an incredibly shrewd old war-horse. Let´s wait and see what he´s got up his proverbial sleeve...
