Reader comment on item: [Israel's Gaza Withdrawal:] A Democracy Killing Itself

Submitted by Marilyn (United States), Aug 18, 2005 at 13:01

Today, for the first time, I am embarrased to be a Jew. With very very few exceptions - the messengers - that is the print media, television and the internet did not present the danger of handing over the Biblical homeland to arab terrorists, land that that orthodox Jews cultivated. I believe that the media does not see Orthodox Jews - especially the supreme efforts of the Hilltop Youth as heroic and "cool." They are seen as a bunch of ugly, disgusting right wing extremists; nothing exotic compared to the "rebel" nazi arab "militants". The messengers - (not here) as well as all of the phony Jewish groups and Holocaust centers have destroyed the good will of the Jewish people. What is there to pray for on the coming High Holidays. One can never extricate the Jewish religion and the Jewish homeland, even for someone who is not a practicing Jew, like myself. We have been let down by the media and the elites in this country. Make no mistake, these are days of mourning that will not end. Marilyn
