Israel is not a Democracy

Reader comment on item: [Israel's Gaza Withdrawal:] A Democracy Killing Itself

Submitted by Ann (Israel), Aug 17, 2005 at 12:03

Today is the 17th of August. I live in Israel and have been watching the evacuation process on the TV all day. Although as a former ex-patriot of the USA I have always said that Israel is NOT a true democracy, and that someone who has never lived in a democractic country can not really understand that this government under Sharon is acting totally as a dictatorship.

My heart bleeds and cries out in pain for my brothers and sisters from the Gush. But my faith in G-d has strengthen. If not I, then my children or grandchildren or great-grand children WILL return. I wonder at what price ?
