A "Democracy?" No. A DICTATORSHIP, Yes.

Reader comment on item: [Israel's Gaza Withdrawal:] A Democracy Killing Itself

Submitted by Ruth Lowry (United States), Aug 16, 2005 at 14:49

I have said it before ... Israel, with Sharon at the helm, is committing national suicide. To put it another way, Sharon, with the help of the impotent and insipid Knesset, (might I ever so politely add, IGNORANT), is committing national HOMICIDE.

The "disengagement" from (surrrender of) Gaza IS a victory for terrorists which they will celebrate by increasing their murderous activities until, like spoiled brats, they get their own way; the destruction of Israel and its' people. Sharon has made it so much easier for them to succeed.

A settler-free Gaza is merely one step toward acheiving their goal. It is SO obvious to at least SOME people, that the likes of Hamas and other such fiends have NO intention of ceasing their bloodthirsty activities. The "gratitude" they show Israel for handing them Gaza on a silver platter, is exhibited by their continuous rocket "gifts." These "macho maniacs" who hide like the cowards they are behind women and children, and drape their faces with black, checkered, and green rags so as not to be recognized (a la Klu Klux Klan); who fire their rifles into the air (no doubt hoping to shoot angels) in celebration of their victories (murders); these soulless beings in whose very veins flows HATE are now, thanks to Sharon in a position to inflict yet MORE terror on Israel.

The only possible good which will be born of the so-called "disengagement" will be the inevitable infighting which will occur among the various power-hungry factions of so-called "Palestinians." They will surely fight over the "nine billion" dollars and the three billion they expect to be showered with by the EU and the US. This money will go into privileged pockets as always, while the ordinary people continue to be kept in squalor ... pawns of the power grabbers, as they have always been.

As for the UN being at all effective at anything, anywhere ... what a JOKE.
