The problem is the interpretation of the Koran. Reform it.

Reader comment on item: Identifying Moderate Muslims

Dr. Pipes's excellent article reflects unfortunately only a fraction of the reality.

The fact is that many Muslims follows a HATEFUL interpretation of Islam, who teaches ALL readers that JEWS ARE SONS OF PIGS AND MONKEYS...What can one expect from such an interpretation? It is blatantly racist, not only against Jews, but all KHAFFIRS (unbelievers). Ask Hindus what they have endured throughout centuries of Muslim hegemony.

The ONLY THING that could solve the problem is a NEW VERSION of the Koran, adapted for the 21th century. They're STILL thinking with a 7th century mind regarding all aspects of life. A version that would forbid ALL MURDERS in order to go to "paradise"
and making SHAHADA ("martyrdom") a terrible sin. If they take this apparently simple measure, we could save THOUSANDS of innocent lives across the globe.

If Dr.Pipes could gather a DOZEN of these so-called "moderate muslims" (in my opinion there's no such a thing at all), they will be seen by the radicals as HERETICS...

A FATWA would then be issued by ANY suicide-bomber-lover Iman or mullah ordering the HEADS of the "moderate" muslims...ISN'T THAT THE AWFUL REALITY?
Submitting....
