Why be a Muslim if not all the way?

I read your comments and I wonder if you can explain to me what it is you find in the Muslim belief system that is appealing to you? (I say belief system instead of religion because I cannot understand how something that promotes acts so violent and sickening to women can be considered holy....holy meaning spiritually pure and without reproach) It seems to me that if you reject those hideous portions, yet hang on to the other stuff, it is like eating out of the garbage bin....sorting thru the trash to find the still edible things that perhaps won't kill you. Why would you want to partake in ANYTHING from that source? Why not look elsewhere for the essense of spirituality until you find that which is true, that makes 100% sense to you, instead of settling for whatever you glean from a source of pure evil? If I as a Christian find that I cannot accept 100% of the Bible, I am not inclined to begin a rebellion against certain portions of it until it is changed. Instead I would leave it all behind and seek total truth elsewhere. So I am curious as to why you accept part of Islam at all....can you help me see your point of view? Thanks for your time.
