Interesting but...

Reader comment on item: Identifying Moderate Muslims

Submitted by Samir MOHAREB (United States), Nov 23, 2004 at 22:05

Responding to your interesting article, I beg to differ, the fact of the matter, I believe that there are no moderate Moslems.

In my opinion, the Islamic movement is highly organized and financed. As in every Moslem society, you will be faced by blood thirsty elements. Yet, there is always another group that would rush to identify with victims and their plight and try to offer help even if they hardly deliver.

What you are talking about is a cabon copy of what happens every day in the streets of the Middle East; mobs demand revenge and they resort to bloody actions. The so called intellectuals and the semi intellectuals come out appeasing the west and preaching moderation. This policy gains them a foothold in respectable western societies and higher education institutions. Nonetheless the goal remains: subdue the West and spread Islam.

There are many benefits to be gained by all by spreading Islam. I don't wish to be an alarmist, but I read and watch their media everyday and the fact remains that even if methods differ from street fights, car bombs, slitting of throats, the goal remains the same: to dominate the West -- their promised "land of milk and honey".
