For Old GuyReader comment on item: Assessing Obama's Cairo Speech Submitted by Peter Herz (United States), Jun 15, 2009 at 22:17 Old Guy, you're right about numerous American Christians of known Jewish ancestry. I'm one myself; and when there's someone spouting off about Jewish perfidy in the room, I play Jewish. Further, let's not forget a small but surprisingly growing number of Christians of Muslim background springing up in the Iran Towns (?) and other ethnic communities in the USA. I'm not talking about persons of Maronite, Syriac, Armenian, Coptic, and other historically Christian Middle Eastern communities, but persons from Muslim backgrounds who have become Christians since immigrating--or even before. And, yes, there are people flitting back and forth between religions or abandoning historical ones for modern ideologies and New Age isms. It's American as apple pie after Chinese takeout.
