Sorry Mr. Obama, We Should Be Afraid, Very AfraidReader comment on item: Assessing Obama's Cairo Speech Submitted by Geno M. (United States), Jun 5, 2009 at 16:57 In his speech, President Obama actually had the temerity to report that "Islam is not part of the problem in combatting violent extremism — it is an important part of promoting peace,". Really? Not even "part" of the problem Mr. President? Then why, pray tell, do so many acts of Islamic terror feature the perpetrator waving a Koran and quoting chapter and verse from the self-same book? I don't seem to recall Jewish or Christian murderers wearing a yarmulke and quoting from the bible while blowing up a bus load of innocent children. Guess I must have just have missed that one on CNN. So, Mr. President, how, one may reasonably ask, do we find common ground with the adherents of a religion wherein the cartoon rendering of Muhammad warrants a backlash of hysterical Muslim fury but the actual and physical murder of innocent school girls in Dallas, TX doesn't? What kind of distorted world view do the followers of this 7th Century cult hold, and, more to the point, why on Earth should we try to make friends with them? Even more troubling, what I've heard no one in the Obama administration clarify is what happens if, by some wild chance, the current pattern of shameful groveling and butt-kissing fails to stop the perpetration of another Islamic horror show by our good friends from the Religion Of Peace? Has this guy actually read the Koran? It's all in there. Just like Hitler's plan was clearly spelled out in Mein Kampf. I fear we have elected the reincarnation of Neville Chamberlain as our president. But this is 2009, not 1939 and the stakes are far more grave. Islam may not be good at too many things. But it is very very good at chewing up and spitting out its rivals and enemies. So what happens Mr. Obama, when for example, the Islamic Republic of Iran decides to send us a nuclear Islamic present to thank us for all of our groveling? In other words, when the dhimmi dance fails to stop the rain of Islamic hell, what precisely constitutes Mr. Obama's plan B.?
