defending Obama for the time beingReader comment on item: Assessing Obama's Cairo Speech Submitted by G. Vishvas (Germany), Jun 9, 2009 at 11:40 Obama has to first try to get near to the muslims/arabs. In politics some flattery is always done. George Bush Jr. did it too, and much worse. Obama,s first speech addressed to muslims, who are not at all used to hearing truth but only flattery, had to contain a lot of lies. This is not Obama,s fault but basically and originally the fault of the muslims. Let us see how the next and later speeches (to muslims and others) turn out to be. Obama and his team will soon find out that they will have to talk straight truth to the arabs and muslims quite early. Islamically falsified history-writing, incompatibility of kuran and shariah with the US constitution, deceitful dealings by muslims (pakistanis) and arabs vis-a-vis USA, inherent violence and its glorification in islam - all that will have to be talked about soon now that the first speech has been received in the arab and muslim world with some openness (to the extent that muslims can at all be open-minded). We are living in difficult times - thanks to USA,s rabid anti-communism of the past resulting in agents of islam being given so much money, geo-political support, technologies, shares in companies, weapons, favoured treatment etc. This "my enemy,s enemy is my friend" stuff has backfired mightily.
