Reader comment on item: Assessing Obama's Cairo Speech
in response to reader comment: re: muslim contributions to mankind

As to the speech. Come on it was about as moderate of a speech that I've heard in a long time. No axis of evil, no great satan's, no we're going to turn Iran into a parking lot. The man is looking for new ways to solve old problems. Neither the author of this article nor most of you on this site desire to find any common ground with the rest of the world. That's okay I'm sure there still exists the flat world society for you to join or any number of other groups that support this nationalistic, xenophobic foolishness, which in fact makes you no more rational than the jihadists, nice company you keep. No side is perfect I will grant you, but I haven't seen any of you folks including the author offer anything of value to contribute to a reconciliation between the disputing parties. So have fun screaming to each other the "barbarians are coming, the barbarians are coming" because I don't think anyone else is listening.
