Reader comment on item: Assessing Obama's Cairo Speech

We live in strange times Dr.. Pipes, at least they, the power in charge, has not limited very much voices like yours.

Sigh, politicians are a product of imaginary public opinion in these times, , a self fulfilling opinion that is controlled by special organizations of propaganda, such as the Mainline media. In other words, if a specific need is seen, the propaganda machines go to work, and it appears the public supports it, all one needs to do is look at public opinion polls, they do not allow for deviation from the goal, it is if you oppose, you are bad and are against America, or sugary for American idiocy that is unfolding, there is no other option. If one of the opposing sides try and complain, they are labled as anti-American, such as happened to a few well known critics of creaping Socialism, you and I both know of.

I have researched Pres Obama, a man of mystery to say the least, who even the media admits they know nothing of him, if I was in a neutral country, this situation might be amusing, however, as a old line Christian patriot, it signals a change that is at best foggy, at worst, a nightmare about to unfold.

WE, all of us, are the sum-total of all our experiences and varying opinions as we grow to maturity, we are denied this knowledge of Pres Obama, bottom line we Americans cannot be Muslim if we are socialist, which is Athiest (those who rule). Obama's speech is a oxymoron of sorts, I simply don't know his intent , considering the obvious gulf between the two sides, who are alien to each other. Pres Obama is a great speaker, who can enrapt those he aims at, a rare talent. Who knows the result?

The end result is, the leaders will decide, apart from the lowly peons who do all the work, and we live with their decisions, we all have lost the ability to put in place those who act on our behalf, rather only act for special interests of wealth, whether war or peace, we have no say in the out come any more.

Sound like Biblical Kings who cover the world with blood at any provacation. When the deserts bloom? likely not in my lifetime

(It appears I ramble, read carefully again)
