Much needed response

Reader comment on item: America's Crash Course on Islam
in response to reader comment: "Islam is an irredeemable death cult"

Submitted by Imam Ahmed Syeed Ali Muhammed (United States), Mar 27, 2008 at 16:34

I'm sorry I have to respond to this one, It seems our friend Jaladhi, has never meet a Muslim, and is getting all of his knowledge from CNN. :) I don't deny that after the death of the Holy Prophet (Salallahu alahi wasallam) There was fighting and murders for who would be the new leader of the Islamic community. This doesn't make Islam a violent religion. Christianity, and Judiasm have had similar histories.

There are Muslims who do enjoy living in this country, and enjoy the freedoms this country has for all everyone. And yes there are those who see the west as inherently evil. It's up to us to correct this view some Muslims have, as well as some people who live in this country, and were born here. That America is a great country to live in it has its faults, yet those are never greater than it's benefits.
