Bone Chilling recollection

Reader comment on item: America's Crash Course on Islam

Submitted by Kurt (United States), Sep 12, 2007 at 13:32

I remember something that chills my bones to this day.

I was a friend with several Muslims during my days in College, some twenty-five years ago. We got along pretty well. One day while discussing military recruitment and service, I explained to them how we now in the USA have an all voluntary military. I asked them if they needed to serve in the Military in their respective countries.

There was a response, "we are ALL in the army!" and much laughter by all of them.

After studying Islam more, I know see the true meaning of their response. I am convinced that this is in reference to the Koranic description of the "world of Islam" and the only other part of the world..."the world at war!"
