Reader comment on item: America's Crash Course on Islam
in response to reader comment: The Chimera of "Winning" a War on Terrorism

Marci, for your information, we are involved, along with the other nations of the civilized world, in a life-or-death struggle with Islamofascists (despite the unfortunate mislabeling it as a "War on Terror"). It truly is not a meaningless goal to save free people from being coerced and intimidated into either conversion to Islam, paying the Jizya and becoming subservient Dhimmis, or being slaughtered by the intolerant Islamists.

Militant Islam is an intolerant, totalitarian belief system. It matters not a whit whether the U.S. remains in Iraq or refuses to confront terrorist nations such as Iran and Syria. What have the Spanish, the U.K., Germany, France or the Netherlands done to threaten the Muslims? Radical Islam simply uses the U.S. presence in the Middle East to gin up support for jihad; the radical followers of Mohammed fight and terrorize their neighbors world-wide, whether in Africa, Israel, the Far East, Europe, and, in the future, the U.S.

You make the statement "Terrorism against the United States will subside when the Islamic world no longer feels threatened by the United States. Will terrorism completely disappear? No. Terror is a tool for insurgency, from the assault on fort Sumpter to the Oklahoma Federal Building bombing, from the bombing of the King David Hotel to the Intifada. But, as we have in the past, we must bear the occasional scar of terror---". This is false moral equivalence carried to the extreme.

The Islamic world uses jihad and terror attacks because it wants to carry out Mohammed's plan to impose Allah's will by conquering the infidel Kuffars and imposing the fascistic religio-political "religion" of Islam upon the world. do you not remember the mass celebrations in the Arab street following the September 11 jihad attacks on the United States, and the stated goals of Osama Bin Laden, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and many other Islamofascist leaders to destroy Israel, the United States, and all other infidel countries?

Do you really think Osama means it when he "extends an olive branch for their removal", referring to our "needless military presence in the Middle East"?

Do you really think that it is illogical to suspect a "suitcase nuclear bomb behind every curtain or a monolithic movement of a million islamic radicals out to destroy the U.S."? Do you truly believe that Al Qaeda and other Islamic fanatics are not trying to acquire such weapons? Their stated goal is to inflict much more damage on the U.S. and other countries than the 3,000 murdered on 9/11. Of course the islamofascists are not monolithic, but they are not lessof a menace because they are operating in independent groups.

Unfortunately you fail to realize the threat to all free people posed by the menace of Islamofascism. All you have to do is look at what is taking place in Europe with the growth of home-grown radical islam in France, Germany and Great Britain with creeping dhimmitude on the part of governmental, educational and religious leaders and the spineless multicultural issuing of concessions to Muslims who will not assimilate and profess no allegiance to their country of residence, and who want to see Sharia law supercede democratic forms of government. This must not be allowed to happen in the United States.

Marci, I hope you and your ilk wake up before it's too late---I don't think wearing a Burqa on a hot summer day, among other repressive Islamic rules, would be very pleasing to freedom-loving women in a civilized country!
