Dr. Pipes, you conclude: "The historical record gives me some reason for optimism, as until now the Western democracies have prevailed. For that to happen again, learning about Islam and Muslims will be part of the requisite preparation."

The reason Western democracies have prevailed in the past conflicts with Nazis and communists is that we dealt with them in truthful manner describing exactly what they were and did not sugar coat with political correctness.

However, when it comes to Islam and Muslims we(by that I mean our government, media, academics and experts)are completely immersed in "politically correct" mishmash about them and are not telling the truth about Islam to the Western public. The net result is the mantra of "Islam is religion of peace" appears everywhere. Political correctness is nothing but telling lies and hence our public is confused and misled. How can we be really prepared to fight Islamofascism when the people do not know the truth about them. In order to succeed we have to shed the PC to the dustbin of history and get on with the facts about Islam and Muslims.
