Dr. Pipes, you write: "To one side stand those of us who see the Muslim world going through a temporary crisis and who seek ways to help modernize its religion, so that Muslims can flourish. '

Muslims aren't going through "temporary "crisis. This is their permanent crisis!! Their crisis is 1400 years old(for example, right after Mohammad's death, the fights and assasinations in the selection of susequent caliphs) and it will continue forever until this "religion" is eliminated, for they always use the crisis to revive and go back to their seventh century "religion". Islam and modernity are mutually imcompatible!!! It's the nature of the beast, nobody can help them.

Then you continue: "To the other side stand those who see Islam as an irredeemable death cult and seek to ban Islam and disengage from Muslims"

Absolutely right!!! We need courageous leaders in the government and media to admit the truth about Islam/Muslims and take action accordingly, if we want to survive as human beings!!! If Muslims do not want to live like civilized human beings, they can all go back to those Islamic "paradises" from they escaped but now they want to convert our country into those Islamic hells.
