SorryReader comment on item: Hating Valentine's Day Submitted by Terry (European Union), Feb 24, 2007 at 19:39 I have no idea when you lived and worked in Jeddah, but my wife and I lived and worked there for some six years between 1981 and 1987. I believe my posts have made my position on the subject of Islam, and 'good Muslims' in general quite clear. In the interest of truth however, I have bought red roses for my wife for Valentines day in Jeddah. Of course I did not go to buy them on the 14th February itself. I always bought them the day before. So that she would wake up to them on Valentine's day. One thing I always found, and one of the many reasons I find Islam to be hypocritical is that religion never ever got in the way of business. I always got mine from a very excellent place very close to the Jamjoom shopping mall. The China shop, on Palestine street was also a good place to get them. Not that I ever used it, but some of my colleagues did. Note: Opinions expressed in comments are those of the authors alone and not necessarily those of Daniel Pipes. Original writing only, please.
