Valentine beheaded

I would have thought that muslims could get behind Valentine's Day, considering that Valentine was beaten and beheaded by the authorities for refusing to go along with the lust-filled customs of his times. In other words, Valentine was a martyr. Isn't this the type of behavior that muslims admire?
