Boycott of Valentine's Day in Muslim countries

Reader comment on item: Hating Valentine's Day

Submitted by A.A (United States), Feb 17, 2004 at 13:57

Hatred of non muslims/west is so deep in muslim countries that they boycott a harmless tradition like valentine's day just because it is celebrated in the west. What harm does it bring to them?

On the contrary it brings joy to so many and earns bread for many others. Why don't the mullahs boycott Ashura Day (10 th Muharram) instead, on which millions of muslims gather to wail and weep together and beat themselves with knives, chains etc.

Some even inflict cuts on their infants to bleed them (see pictures on www.faithfreedom.org)
