Reader comment on item: Muslim Soldiers in the West, Criticized by their Communities
in response to reader comment: A real Muslim, a real American Soldier

Submitted by Philip Saenz (United States), Feb 10, 2007 at 20:57

Al Amrikee,I wrote a short letter recently. Perhaps you remember my name. It is Philip Saenz. I praised you then, and I praise you now. I think you are a great person and a good American soldier. I too have been a soldier.

Unlike you , I'm a Catholic. I try to be a good Catholic, and I'm sure you try to be a good Muslim. I once met a good Muslim that said this to me: "A good Muslim is a good Christian, and a good Christian is a good Muslim." To me, it makes a lot of sense. But do you agree with his statement? If you wish to let me know, you may contact my e-mail: philip3@earth-comm.com Thank you for your service for God and country. To me you are a true American and a good servant of God. I think you are a good and sincere person. Keep the faith with the Creator. Good-by for now. I'll continue praying for you and the other American soldiers. Philip Saenz
