PRECISELY CORRECTReader comment on item: Muslim Soldiers in the West, Criticized by their Communities Submitted by DANIEL REDMOND (United States), Nov 26, 2009 at 13:39 Point well taken. Islam and the American perception of individual liberties are fundamentally opposed and irreconcilable. Which is exactly why I have proposed a Constitutional ban on Islam in America and the deportation of all Muslims. Why? It is quite simple: The Quran itself instructs Muslims to disregard any laws that are in opposition to their own civil code, known as Sharia. As American citizens they must pledge to obey the laws of our Constitution; as Muslims they cannot and will not do so. Therefore they should be banned from citizenship. In addition to this, one of our Constitutional principles is religious freedom and the non-interference with religious observance on the part of our government. Islam seeks to ban all other religions, to impose Sharia as the law of the land, and to compell all non-Muslims to join their faith. Muslims themselves are under threat of death for leaving the Muslim faith. How can we allow such a large group of religious bigots to enter our country and reside upon our own soil without disrupting the very fabric of our own society? It is not possible. Therefore Muslims should be banished to Islamic nations. Period. Let them wallow in their own misery rather than importing it to our shores. - DANIEL REDMOND Note: Opinions expressed in comments are those of the authors alone and not necessarily those of Daniel Pipes.
