Barring those in the non-Muslim world who think they are unaffected by the crisis -- if such is possible -- the aware non-Muslims, ex-Muslims and the fringe Muslims who are genuinely moderate and secular, but for whom apostasy is not a feasible choice as of now, all have an important part to play against the tide of disinformation from the Islamist camp, in cohorts with the 'Secular Left' and the non-Muslim media of similar persuasions, along with the criminals, psychopaths and the mercenaries among its new-found converts.

To digress a little... . University departments may well start separate disciplines for the study of the Criminology of Violent Jihad (plenty of gore, sex, loot and free meal tickets) and the Economy of Jihad, based around the twin pillars of the Hajj and zakat (and the jiziya).

The contribution of AR lies in the clearly set out Crescent Manifesto, an inspired piece of writing that goes a long way in clearing the devious disinformation practiced by the Islamists and their backers. He also importantly points to the blinkered approach of western nations who imagine that the strategy, methodology and means of conventional warfare would suffice in this diabolical jihadi scenario, based as it is on murder, suicide, and do-it-yourself terror! "Helping them adjust and assimilate" is a real scream in the present crisis.

Incidentally, there is much to learn from India, since all that the western world is currently facing, has been a part of the Indian experience for more than the last 8 decades, including appeasement and compromise, with the fond hope that democratic institutions based on the humanitarian premise would be enough to contain the problem if not to neutralise it. But democratic practices in the host nations have themselves been turned into weapons of jihad through ingenuous subversion, including elections (vote bank politics), the judiciary (managing legal loopholes, infiltrating civil and human rights bodies) and the media. They are quick to cry foul at the slightest hint of the state veering away from constitutional safegurads in coping with this vicious monster of terrorism! The very body politic of the host nation is thoroughly subverted from within, employing the all-purpose lie by the so-called moderates, whose only claim to the title is that they attend meetings and engage in a dialogue-of-sorts even though it is based on the outright lie. They have no control over the extremists whom they protect and provide infrastructural support, including finance, and the terrorists themselves, who are psychopaths without the delusion of dialogue and democracy!

However, the turning point has already arrived, and a breakthrough is eminently achievable, now that the fog of delusion and disinformation has begun to clear out (if only at the ground level for now) through their own impatience in achieving their goals. That impatience is on account of the concerted efforts of people who are no longer fooled by the two-tongued Islamic rhetoric!

They have abused world hospitality for a very long time, been given a long enough rope by now! Psychopaths are essentially not amenable to patience and reason, and soon we will see that the monster let loose on the unsuspecting world will devour itself and its financiers and backers. One final parting kick, strategically landed, will see the ultimate demise of a hateful ideology for all times to come.
