I further fear that in Lebanon the situation is more complex. Syria and iran use the Lebanese to fight their wars, and are willing to keep fighting it to the last lebanese. The only effective means to end the war, which is to deny the enemy the ground from which war is launched, appears verbotten to the West, and especially to Israel, whose very capital for the last three thousand years is a matter for disapproval by the US. So the fury, however great is wasted upon the messenger, rather than the perpetrator. At this time America is the only power able to deal a true knock-out to the forces of Islamo-fascism, and as Iraq shows, ability is no guarantee of action.
