Jesus and Satire

Reader comment on item: Mocking Muhammad Is Not Hate Speech

Submitted by Rick Bundschuh (United States), Sep 25, 2012 at 12:54

In response to M. Tovey, I would like to suggest he revisit the Gospel and take a look at the numerous barbs, obviously humorous but clearly pointed, Jesus himself delivered to the religious leaders opposed to his message.

I would submit that satire can be both an appropriate and loving Christian response (with the intent that to be able to see one's faulty thinking via humor may lead to reconsideration). It seems we Christians have a good model for this kind of exchange.
