in response to reader comment: Ishmael or Isaac

Why do you spend so much time vexing yourself? We have been through this before; and I have been through this with others of your belief as well and in the final analysis, you WANT Ishmael to be the son of Abraham's promise because it fits what your were taught about Ishmael and it is antithetical to your teachings that Isaac cannot be the actual son of the promise.

If it were true that Ishmael were considered the 'only son,' does it not violate the LORD's promise to Sarah? Ishmael was born because of Sarah's wavering faith in her old age that she could bear a son in the first place, until she had her miracle child Isaac. Now who do you think Almighty God is going to honor the promise to: the child of His miracle or the child of Abraham and Sarah's lapse of belief?

The child of His miracle is the forecast of the sacrifice on Golgotha centuries later, the Anointed (HaMashiach) Savior (Yeshua) fulfilling that part of the prophetic promise to Abraham. But I am sure you are already dismissing that; for you have already made your choice of whom you think will get you through to eternity.
