Half-pregnant Islam?

Reader comment on item: Americans Wake Up to Islamism
in response to reader comment: Moderate Islam

Submitted by Khalid (Canada), Sep 13, 2010 at 21:12

There is either a personal and secularized Islam which accepts the absolute separation of mosque and state, or there is an imperialistic expansionist post-colonial Islam.

Islam can't have it both ways. There is no such thing as a "moderate" Islam between these poles.

Islam is as much a political ideology as it is religion. Name me one "moderate" supremacist and revolutionary political ideology, and I will then agree with you that there may be a moderate Islam. There are no moderate fascism, moderate communism, or moderate anarchism.
