Lawrence the Novel Writer and Cave Dweller

1920 was a long time ago. What would Lawrence of Arabia have known about Moderate Islam? This concept was unheard of back in 1920. Moderate Islam vs Islamism did not exist back then. It is only in recent history that Islam has become polarised to the point where such a distinction can be properly made and evaluated. Personally, I wouldn't put too much importance on comments made by Lawrence of Arabia. His main activity was writing and selling novels and hanging out in caves in Wadi Rum.
