What or Who is the FOE??

Reader comment on item: Americans Wake Up to Islamism

Submitted by Bob H (United States), Sep 7, 2010 at 12:00

Of course there are wonderful, peaceable Muslims. It is true that being a Muslim, as such, does not make one bad, any more that being a Christian or a Jew makes one good. However, some scholars indicate that the basic problem IS Islam itself, based on the 109 or so violent versus in the Quran, augmented by related holy books. For Muslims to change Islam they evidently have to remove such offending versus from their Holy books; which brings the threat of death to those trying to do so. If moderate Muslims are those whose sense of humanity causes them to "rise above the Quran" and disregard the violent verses, stoning, decapitations, etc., then logic indicates they are "bad" Muslims for they are not obeying what is written in their holy books. It is a tough situation, being a "good" Muslim (by Western standards). I understand, but don't have authenticated data, that, with enlightenment, many more Muslims are leaving their religion, many for Christianity, than there are non-Muslims converting to Islam. True/False??
