Outcome of the Islamic center

Reader comment on item: Americans Wake Up to Islamism

Submitted by Ahmed Dawood (Canada), Sep 19, 2010 at 14:40

With all that hyped publicity against Islam and Muslims in America, Muslims took advantage of the situation and distributed hundreds of thousands of the Koran and Islamic publications to non Muslims in America. CAIR alone is distributing 200,000 copies of the Koran and almost all mosques on their own initiatives have participated. Since Muslim individuals have also an obligation to spread Islam, Muslims have been very active calling people to Islam or " Daawa" in Arabic while the hype was alive. Individuals were active all over the world.

How come this hyped publicity can be considered a set back for Islam in America? In my opinion, thousands will read the Koran or some sort of a publication on Islam at least out of curiosity. In the long run, thousands may convert to Islam. Best of all, thousands will know true Islam and that is what Muslims are after in general.
