Go back and read the bible in its original language you see Jerusalem mentioned plenty of times.

A quick search gave me 336 references, written as "Ye-Ru-Sha-Lam" (Jerusalem).

if you include the mentioning of Jerusalem's other names you can get to around 700 references.
