Jerusalem in Koran

Reader comment on item: Offer: $1 million for Finding "Jerusalem" in the Koran

Submitted by Raqib Ahmed Asif (Bangladesh), Sep 19, 2006 at 05:45

Mr. Daniel Pipes is correct that the word Jerusalen is not written in The Holy Koran.

However Holy Koran has referred Jerusalem as a town or a city. The Holy Koran talks about the banishment of Jews (Children of Israel) from a town twice. On the first occasion the Babylonian army led by Nebuchadnezzer and on the second occasion by the Roman Army led by General Titus.

The Holy Koran also talks about the return of Jews to the same city after 2000 years of expulsion. So I would like to ask Dr. Daniel Pipes and his fellow associates, from which town the Children of Israel got banished twice and which town did they return? Answer is very simple, Jerusalem. So, Holy Koran did talk about Jerusalem.

Jerusalem has been given to the Children of Israel, which is true but Mr Daniel Pipes ignored that there are conditions to inherit Jerusalem. Conditions are written in Koran. But the Children of Israel did not accept those conditions. Therefore the God of Abraham gave Jerusalem to Moslems through Caliph Umar. The Arabic word of Jerusalem is Bait-Al-Maqdis, qouted several times in Hadith.
