Victims must denounce the perpetrators to save others

Rashida, You are to be commended for your courage in writing about the abuse. A very dear friend of mine is still an emotional mess 30 years after abuse by a cleric. She joined other of this man's victims and made sure he spent the rest of his life in jail. This was extremely painful for her, but she realized other little children (boys and girls) needed to be protected and the fear of discovery and imprisonment will stop some before they perpetrate these unspeakable betrayals of young innocent children.

The truth has to come out. The imams should go to jail. Unfortunately, the horrendous abuse of small children (mufa khathat, child marriages) has a considerable sanction by Islamic clerics (e.g. Ayatollah Khomeini). What you mentioned is the tip of the iceberg. Children will continue to be abused in the name of Islam until you the victims come forward and bring them before the courts of law.
