in response to reader comment: Mohammed confirmed and institutionalized slavery: Modern Islam cannot change it

I can sense great prejudice and enmity in your words against Islam and its Prophet Muhammed (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). Slavery in Arab peninsula is in the preislamic era before the advent of Prophethood of Muhammed. Check the history of Islam. Muhammed (pbuh) on the contrary has encouraged his apostles to free their slaves for those who set free their slaves will be rewarded by Allah even greater than such noble deeds if they do, he kept advising. The most outstanding one of them was Bilali Habeshi who was paid overly when he was being tortured with a rock laid on his body in the extreme heat of the sun taking him to his death if the apostle had not come to his rescue to set him free by paying his master a greater amount than they would be expecting for a black slave. Then on and even today Bilali Habeshi is one of the shining examples in guidance of Muslims with his commitments and devotion and lifestyle. He was honoured with such exaltation that he was the first to recite Ezan (call to prayer) and known and revered so even today.

Your quotation of the slavery being institulized by its people by the support of scriptures is surely not the Qur'an or Ahadith of the Holy rophet Muhammed (pbuh). Especially the case of Ham being your subject is not an extraction from Islamic sources but check well it's in the Old Testament (Bible) where he is being cursed by his humiliated father and he goes on to say that he be cursed that he and his cildren and their children be slaves to his brothers and their generations. Of course you will eazily guess Ham(I am saying Ham because u said he was Ham) represents the black people(non-white) and his brothers represent the white people(none-black).

And there the Christians of the past have got their permission from the biblical holy man to go to the shores of Africa and the hinterlands of Asia to enslave them and trade them to america in return for profit. Slavery continues today with a little more sophistication by luring those servants either by throwing their homelands into chaos by way of taking captive their goverments and their economy and making them obey their rules. Remember all those kunta kintes are not stolen from Africa to America to be sold there by Muslims but done so by those greedy so called Christians.
