Arabs "shopping" in Thailand too

RE: "(2) The behavior of Arabs in India in some way parallels that of Japanese and Westerners in Thailand..."

Not so fast. I live in Thailand, and let me tell you, the Arabs are here as well. Take a little walk around Soi 4, Nana District of Bangkok. This area of Bangkok is known for its brothels and by-the-hour hotels. All the beer-bar waitresses are for sale. The place is crawling with Arab men who appear exactly as described in your article - flowing robes and expensive turbines. Not a female Arab to be found, and the Arab men tend to walk or "shop" in pairs or small groups. The evening time is when the "action" starts, and thats when you can see the Arabs roaming the streets.

Such a pious group, these Arab men [note the sarcasm]. There is no big business in the Nana District, certainly no oil business, and no reason for a businessman to be there at night, unless he wants some "action".
