Reader comment on item: [Moderate] Voices of Islam

Submitted by Robert B. Arbetman (United States), Sep 23, 2003 at 18:06

Dear Dr. Pipes:

I seem to recall from an issue of RESPONSE magazine (the publication of the Simon Wiesenthal Center) that a (or the) leading Islamic cleric in Italy has also stood up for moderation. Most noteably, this cleric has called Islam's claim to the Old City of Jerusalem false and needless. Can you verify this and perhaps provide some additonial specifics. I have forgotten exactly who this guy is but I was most favorably impressed.

Thank you,

Robert B. Arbetman

Abdul Hadi Palazzi, and I quote him in the conclusion of http://www.danielpipes.org/article/84.
