Is islam becoming tolerant?Reader comment on item: [Moderate] Voices of Islam Submitted by N. K. (United States), Sep 25, 2003 at 18:30 It is encouraging that more and more muslims are looking at their religion critically and going public with their views without getting killed. Anwer Shaikh, Ibn Warraq, and now Irshad Manji along with few other muslims have written books critical of Islam after Rushdie affair and are surviving without million dollars on their heads. Is islam becoming tolerant?Note: Opinions expressed in comments are those of the authors alone and not necessarily those of Daniel Pipes. Original writing only, please. Comments are screened and in some cases edited before posting. Reasoned disagreement is welcome but not comments that are scurrilous, off-topic, commercial, disparaging religions, or otherwise inappropriate.
