Non-Islamist muslimsReader comment on item: [Moderate] Voices of Islam Submitted by Abdul Salaam (United Arab Emirates), Nov 19, 2003 at 06:01 You talk about non-islamist muslims being atheists or calling islam 'a backward religion' The term Muslim means someone who submits themselves to god. A muslim is someone who submits themselves to God. An atheist could hardly be described as someone who is submitting themselves to something they don't even believe in.Also if you are a muslim who believes in god and that the Qur'an comes from god, how could you then call the religon you believe in 'backward'. These statements not only show a kind of 'knowledgable ignorance' but also a complete lack of logic.
