I want his words to match his actions

Reader comment on item: Bush on Israel: Heartburn for All

Dr. Pipes:

I completely agree with your analysis. Sounds exactly like the back and forth over the dinner table in our house. In the end, my husband always says: Watch what Bush does on Israel, not what he says.

But I wonder why? Why don't his words match his actions? America backing Israel to the hilt is not something that should ever be hidden, doubted, carefully couched, or presented in a way that avoids offending the monsters who want to wipe the Jews off the face of the earth.

I suppose the Colin Powells of the world have our president convinced we must "keep the lid on the boiling pot" over there by talking out of both sides of our mouth... or else we might be in for another war front. That's a laugh isn't it? Why is it always the Jews who are expected to sacrifice their people and their dignity in the absurd pursuit of keeping the barbarians at bay? Is this a twisted kind of soft Anti-Semitism that subconsciously says it's okay to victimize a certain number of Jews as long as it's not a full blown, organized Holocaust?

I love our president and I am 95% certain you have him pegged correctly. But I am beyond disappointed and dismayed that a shadow of a doubt is cast whenever he speaks about the Arab-Israeli situation.

I stand with the Jews. Next topic.
