Reader comment on item: Islamists, Get Out

Submitted by Richard Jarrow (United States), Aug 31, 2005 at 11:30

Islamic people and Muslim countries have long denied anyone but their own free access to their countries.

If they will expect to deny those who don't practice their lives the same way as they do, why should they expect to come into Western nations and attempt to re-make them in their Islamist image.

It's time for a reckoning. Either assimilate, adapt to the culture of the country you're choosing to live in, or move to a country who shares the values of the way you wish to live your life.

That's not to say someone of Muslim background can't live in a Western nation and be happy, but they don't need to shove that religion down everyone elses throat and expect them to adapt.

Either that, or Muslim nations need to open their borders to other religions and ideas so there is a reciprocation of openness on both sides of the aisle, so to speak.
