You show a lack of willingness to consider the teachings of the Hadith and Sira which show a totally different side of the 'perfect man' they portray.
When he was weak his Jihad was peaceful but when he was cast out of Mecca and moved north with his followers and became militant his Jihad became brutal and in no way followed his earlier sentiments. A real example of power corrupting, and absolute power corrupting absolutely.
Muslims are manipulated by their Mufti's to embrace the gentle side of Jihad until they gain numbers and strength, then to move to the real purpose of Islam by utilising the power of numbers and support of apologists, who are ignorant of Islam's real purpose. Islam is ... a brutal political system which does little to improve the life of people in Islamic countries once they are defeated. That is why so many want to leave Islamic countries and travel to western democracies, which they have been taught to hate and hold in contempt.
